ChRoNiC hYpNoTiC

Hey guys, back again and I am absolutely wrecked but I'm going to try my hand at a review. First of all I apologize for the title, but if you think about it I could of wrote the entire review like that, so be thankful. I'm going to try my best to act classy despite the fact that I woke up in my friends back yard under a tarp. Thankfully it didn't rain as we were supposed to have a thunderstorm overnight. I guess that's what the tarp was for. Lol. Anyway, let's see if I can find a flavour that can be fitting for the situation at hand.

Because this morning I'm feeling a little hypnotic after smoking too much chronic. And drinking. Derp.
This is definitely one of the more popular flavours. Most people seem to recommend this one. I haven't found or heard any Tasty Puff review that did not give this flavour praise, so let's see what all the hype is about. So there appears to be a bottle on the bottle. Yep. This might be a lot harder then I thought.
Like, there is a picture of a bottle displayed in the background on the bottle, and with a name like Chronic Hypnotic, your typical stoner isn't going to know what he's getting into. The flavour's title is vague, but you got to admit that it's intriguing...
Although the same can be said for Sweet Leaf, and that was a disaster...
I guess that's why you're reading!

Crackin it open, this has a nice refreshing scent to it, although I can tell right away that this is going to be a hard one to describe. I'm going to take a real long shot with this one, and say that this is what I would imagine 7-up smelling like if you boiled it down to some kind of syrup. Sorry guys. That truly is the best I can do here. Lol.
I keep whiffing it and I'm picking up alot of random scents, so I think I'm just gonna give up. It's what it tastes like that matters, so if you buy these things to sit around sniffing them all day like I'm doing right now you can go eff yourself.

I put 2 drops in a bowl's worth of product and gave it a minute or two to dry off right quick. I'd say this is the standard for most flavours. I'd usually use just one drop for light flavouring, but the taste wouldn't come in strong enough to give an accurate review. Putting in 3 drops or more would be overpowering but if you like that hey to each their own. I'm not here to tell you how to go about your business.

Here's my lighter, here's my bong,
a picture of Cheech and Tommy Chong !

I lit her up and once again my senses were not deceived. Has a pleasant taste to it but I just can't really seem to get my finger on it. I will address the fact though that I do not find this to taste like boiled down 7-up. At all. I can say however that this mixes quite nicely with a drop of Lemon-Lime Kamikaze, or Cool Menthol. Heck, why not even just make a small batch with both? Experimentation is fun if done correctly.

If anybody can help me out with finding things that are similar in flavour to this that would be cool. I usually try to find at least one thing I can compare the taste to, but this one just completely baffles me.

If you're on the fence with this one, I'd say try it out. You will like it as I've yet to hear a complaint about it from anyone in my experience. It usually ends up being a favourite, and therefore a must have for your collection.
With that being said, 4/5 bong hits for the mysterious hypnotic chronic. I'm even going to go out of my way and give it a 4.2 because fuck it, I am a wild beast.

Cockamamie Clove

I just saw this sitting in my post list, it was a draft and never got finished. The last time I used this blog I was writing this up, so might as well pick up from where I left off! I'll be sure to indicate with a * to let you all know where I'll be picking back up again. As you can see, I started writing this on Halloween...

Hey folks,
It's Hallow's eve and I'm thinking I may just have found enough time for a review! And for some reason, I feel that Tasty Puff's "Cockamamie Clove" is appropriate. I thought to myself, "what could be a good flavour to test on Halloween?" and honestly, the only thing that comes to mind is Cockamamie Clove because it is so obscure. Didn't think I'd get around to this one anytime soon, but what the heck right?
So right off the back, I can tell I'm in for something different. First of all, Cockamamie Clove? What is a Cockamamie Clove? I Googled the term and all I am pointed to is this strange Tasty Puff flavour. I found a definition for Cockamamie, here it is.

Cockamamie: ludicrous, foolish; "gave me a cockamamie reason for not going"; "wore a goofy hat"; "a silly idea"; "some wacky plan for selling more books"

Well okay then. Doesn't that clear some confusion. You'd think maybe the picture on the bottle would help you out a little, but no it just baffles me some more. Almost looks like chicken legs. Anyway, the fun continues when you open the bottle, so lets do that.

* And picking back up where we left off... Let's just say I'm no clove expert. I'm only so familiar with cloves, but when it comes to the smell of this concoction, I'd say it might be more along the lines of a cinnamon. Again, though, allow me to express my ignorance to cloves. My encounters with them in my lifetime happens to be minimal. That being said, I can't say how accurate the smell is to that of actual cloves... But considering they are of the cockamamie variation, my guess would be "not entirely accurate". I must say though, the scent is very familiar. Like something I'd come across at my grandparents house. It's not strong, though. I'd say it's aromatic, and a nice smell, however mixing it with herb just seems unfitting.

Keeping it simple and brief, it tastes exactly like how it smells and delivers pretty much what you would expect after capturing it's scent. In it's entirety, this is definitely not a conventional flavour, and would only break it out for novelty purposes or to surprise your friends in the sense of "man, you have got to try this, because it's totally whack."

So there you have it. I'll give it half a bong hit, because your herb is probably better off without it, but it's worth one try if you get the opportunity, and only if you're aching to satisfy your curiosity... Unlike Sweet Leaf, which I don't even recommend trying one time. I really should just do that one over!

Back again! With "Cool Menthol" and 420 pageviews! ;D

So it's been a while since I've done anything with this blog. I've had a lot of free time on my hands lately, so I decided I'd like to finish what I started. Why the heck not? We'll call it the 420 page view come back, and since we're doing that, I'm gonna hit it off with my favourite flavour thus far, Cool Menthol.

Before I continue, I want to highlight various things that make cool menthol so great.

  • It mixes excellently with most other flavours. Yes, that's right. Think Lemon-Lime Menthol. Think Melon Menthol. Blueberry Menthol. Does that not sound absolutely delicious? Ever chew on Dentyne Ice Cherry gum? Because Cool Menthol and Chick Magnet Cherry taste just like it when mixed together. Lets just say it goes well with anything fruity. Avoid mixing with chocolate, sweet leaf, cockamamie clove... You get the drift.

  • It's mouth numbingly cold. Seriously. Put one too many drops of this one and good luck clearing the chamber without getting a brainfreeze.

  • Use ice in your bong? This will compliment your ice cold smoke. They just go hand in hand like that, the flavour kind of creates the illusion of cooled smoke without ice anyway.

So, down to the meat and potatoes. Your not going to get much a smell off of this, but if you stick it up your nose trying to get a whiff, what you'll get instead is a wake up call. Similar in experience to (and if you've ever) gotten hand sanitizer in or around your nose. Just kinda wakes up the nostrils if you know what I mean.

As for the flavour, it's hard to say. It tastes like straight up Cool Menthol... It's intense and can be mouth numbingly cold if a retarded amount is used. I pretty much always mix this with another flavour, so it's by far the one I use the most. I highly recommend making a small batch of 1 drop Cool Menthol, 1 drop Convicted Melon, and 1 drop of Blueberry Thrill. My friends and I have found this to be the most amusing mix by far! It tastes just as good as it sounds.

Naturally I'm going to have to give this one 5/5 bong hits as it's truly a flavour I can not live without. A necessity for any collection. Now that I think about it, maybe I should order myself some spicy cinnamon or something similar to retort? Hmmm... ! ... Jalapeno / Tabasco Tasty Puff? Would you smoke it if there was such a thing?

Blueberry Thrill

Back again!
It's an early Sunday evening, and I've not much to do. I figured I needed a thrill, so why not kick it up a notch, blueberry style! And if you haven't figured it out by now, I'm talking about Tasty Puff's "Blueberry Thrill"! So lets see what we got!
Cracked it open, and gave it the sniff test. Not bad! A very nice mellow blueberry scent. Not too thrilling, I know, but I've yet to load her up... So what am I waiting for, anyway? I load up the ol' trusty bowl and stick it where the sun shines bright.
***bubble***bubble****bubble**(bong noises)**bubble****bubble**
Yum! This is extremely thrilling, and definitely one of the best flavours yet! The sweet blueberry smoke took control of my mouth almost instantly! I was in blueberry wonderland!
This is what blueberry should taste like!
I'm going to give it a solid 4/5 bong hits, but that's just out of personal preference. A true blueberry fan would probably give it the whole 5!

Ghetto Grape

Hello all! Back with another review the very next day!
Today I decided to go with grape. Why? No reason. I was just in the mood for grape today... And I guess I was feeling a bit ghetto, hey!
So as soon as I cracked this baby open, I felt the aroma enter my nostrils. Pleasant!
Smelled pretty sweet, kind of reminded me of these chewy sour grape candies I used to eat growing up. Needless to say I was anxious to try it out! I put a few drops on a fairly large bowl of product, let it dry, packed it up nicely as usual, and fired away.
Not too bad! But I must say the smell deceives you slightly, as it left a very flowery taste in my mouth.
I mean that in a sense as it left my mouth tasting like I had just eaten flowers. The purple coloured kind. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of flower extract on this? Unfortunately I don't know my flowers very well so I can't be much more specific then that... I mostly know my plants.
Although it had a very flower like taste to it, I could still taste the grape. It just tastes like a flowery grape. I must sound like a genius.
3/5 Bong hits. To each their own. In my opinion, it stays true enough to the grape flavour if you don't over do it.

Tasy Puff's "Convicted Melon" vs. Juicy Drop's "Melon"

Hey all. It's been a little while since I made a post, so I figured it was about time to do just that! I thought it would be a good idea to hit two birds with one stone, and why not? It could be interesting.

I thought it would be appropriate to begin with Tasty Puff's take on the Melon flavour in true nature of the blog! It was also the first one I tried, so it works out nicely.
To begin with, Convicted Melon has a very nice smell to it. As soon as I opened the bottle, I had memories of eating those pink little sour watermelon candies. It made my mouth water. I was totally sold on the smell alone! I put a few drops on my herbal product, and allowed it to dry for a small amount of time. As I loaded up my trusty bowl, for a second I thought I could smell Jolly Ranchers! Yummy. So anyway, I stuck it in my bong and fired away!
MMMmmmmmm nice and sweet, left me licking my lips. They almost felt sticky. I took another hit, I noticed the smoke almost tasted smoother. Needless to say, I was genuinely impressed!
A well deserved 4.5/5 Bong hits! I have to say it was quite nice! Very tasty!

So I opened this one up to give it a sniff. Not like the other one! I could tell right away that this one was alcohol based, kinda smelled like vodka. Didn't smell sweet at all really. I loaded up a bowl in the usual fashion, so far unimpressed. I couldn't get any scent of flavour off this thing, but I was hoping maybe that would be different once smoked. I lit her up.
Nothing. Maybe You just need to use more drops when it comes to Juicy Drops? I prepared another bowl, this time using double the amount of drops I normally would, 6 drops! Lit it up and again, I have to say I didn't taste a thing!! What the hell?
I decided to put a drop on my fore arm, let it dry and give it a whiff. I could sort of smell something, so I guess there's some kind of flavour going on in there. It was sort of like a faint sweet mint or something? Anyway, I'm not sure what kind of melon this is, but it can't possibly be watermelon! Maybe a watered down honey melon? It's really hard to say.
I have to give this 1 disappointing bong hit out of 5. This literally tastes and smells like nothing, even in higher doses. Not worth it.

And there we have it, now I must rush off as I have a dentist appointment scheduled in exactly one hour. Hopefully he or she won't notice how I stoned I am and assume I just had a feast of watermelons. And by the way, I now have 18 flavours in my collection and counting, so you can be sure I'll be back with more reviews! Until next time!

Sweet Leaf

So the first one we have here is Tasty Puff's Sweet Leaf. My first impression opening the envelope when it arrived, was "damn, this smells strong". I have to be honest, it had a strong piss-like smell to it, kind of like a male cat's spray. I wasn't impressed, but hey, I know this stuff must be concentrated like hell. As the bottle suggests, I put 3 drops on about .2 grams of my herbal product. I mixed it up, gave it a couple minutes to dry, and packed myself a bowl for my water pipe. The first hit tasted kind of faint, I was hardly able to taste anything... I let a buddy finish it off, and prepared another bowl, only this time using 6 drops. This took a bit longer to dry, we gave it five minutes yet it was still kind of moist. We lit it up and it still smoked relatively well, this time with the Sweet Leaf coming in stronger... And I have to admit, it's a hard one to describe... The only thing that comes to mind, is maybe cantaloupe? My buddy said it tasted like papaya to him, although I can't say I've ever tried papaya before.
As for the title of the flavour, I can't say I knew what to expect with something called "Sweet Leaf", but it definitely wasn't this. Considering the bottle was decorated with pot leaves, I assumed it might only serve to make your herb taste more potent? Or maybe just sweeter as the title suggests? To be honest though, I didn't assume or expect anything much from this... Kind of disappointed overall, and personally won't be picking this one up again.
All in all, 2 out of 5 bong hits. Nothing special, but definitely something different...

EDIT: Going back to this one, I think I was being a little fair considering it was my first post. This smells and tastes like gasoline and I just try and avoid it at all costs. Worst one that I have had yet in my experience. ZERO BONG HITS! You'd be better off flavouring your product with nail polish remover, it's just that bad.
